ASPEL is founded in 1953 in Eupen, Belgium. Shortly after the invention of polymers, ASPEL starts working with plastic injection molding, mostly for the electrical industry.
In 1960, after a steady growth, ASPEL moves to a larger plant. ASPEL’s markets and segments are expanded to the sports, cosmetics, music and electronics industries.
The range of customers keeps expanding. The first automotive customer order – Holding Springs, made in Eupen - is a fact.
ASPEL becomes the preferred plastic injection molding supplier of Tier1 customers.
ASPEL becomes a certified ISO 9001 plastic injection molding company. The ISO 9001 certification is a testimony to quality management.
In 2000, ASPEL Group - a Belgian privately owned company - is created by merging 3 Belgian companies: ASPEL, POLYFORM and VG Plastics.
In 2004, ASPEL opens its plants in Mexico and Slovakia and launches operational activities in China.
Aspel's manufacturing plants achieve ISO TS 16949, the international quality management standard for the automotive industry.
Aspel takes the next step towards continuous improvement by obtaining the ISO 14001 certification, showing compliance with market certificate requirements.
Since early 2022, the ASPEL Group is fully owned by Deutsche Invest Mittelstand (DIM), an investment company based in Germany. Our shareholder is part of the Deutsche Invest Capital group and has a long-term investment strategy with a focus on value growth by actively supporting the portfolio companies.
